Unknown Africa

In this brand new BBC series I explore some of the lesser known parts of my home continent in search of unusual wildlife.  Starting off in the jurassic haven of the coup-stricken Comoros archipelago with pterodactyl-like bats and prehistoric fossil fish, my next stop is with the bubble-blowing forest elephants and lowland gorillas of the humid Central African Republic. We have plenty of close scrapes along the way, but when our crew gets stranded 10km off the desert coast of war-shattered Angola - hopelessly adrift in a rubber dinghy - it’s time to re-assess!
