Unknown Africa

In this brand new BBC series I explore some of the lesser known parts of my home continent in search of unusual wildlife.  Starting off in a jurassic haven of pterodactyl-like bats and prehistoric fossil fish in the coup-stricken Comoros archipelago, my next stop is with the bubble-blowing forest elephants and lowland gorillas of the humid Central African Republic. There are lots of close scrapes along the way, but when I get stranded 10km off the desert coast of war-shattered Angola with my crew, hopelessly adrift in a rubber dinghy, it’s time to re-assess!
